Tocabe's Yellow Cornbread Recipe

Makes 1 (9 x 13-inch) loaf.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag Tocabe's Yellow Cornbread Mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • Place the corn mix into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Spread it out and make a crater in the center for the wet ingredients.
    • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until thoroughly combined.
    • Slowly pour the wet mixture into the crater of the corn mix.
    • Gently whisk the wet and dry ingredients together until fully mixed.
    • Let the batter sit for at least 20 minutes to allow the cornmeal to fully hydrate.
  2. Prepare the Baking Pan:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with butter, oil, or non-stick spray.
  3. Bake the Cornbread:

    • After the batter has rested, pour it into the prepared baking pan. Use a spatula to spread it evenly.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
  4. Cool and Serve:

    • Allow the cornbread to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before slicing.
    • Serve warm with butter, honey, or your favorite toppings.
