An Essential Addition to any Pantry for making Indigenous Cuisine!

The team at Tocabe as always makes sure to deliver excellent products. I'm always thoroughly pleased by the high quality and excellent taste of their products. Blue cornmeal is much sweeter than regular cornmeal, and is even supposed to have more nutritional value as well. An old friend of mine was from a small town near the Andes Mountains in Peru. Her grandmother gave her a recipe for a drink called Chicha de morada or in the language of her grandmother, Yahmor. I haven't been able to find a place that sells purple cornmeal and I remembered her telling me that if purple corn isn't available than substitute it with blue corn. Needless to say that her recommendation was a solid one. The Chicha de Morada / Yahmor that I made with this Blue Cornmeal was delicious! I really enjoy how versatile it is. If you want to make sweet grits, you can use it for that. If you want to make Chicha de Morada / Yahmor, you can make that. If you want to make blue cornbread then you can also use it for those purposes. If you've never had anything but yellow corn I highly recommend you give this blue cornmeal a try! I'm 100% sure you won't be disappointed! High quality product and highly recommended!

James, thank you so much for this amazing review and story! We're so glad you were able to make that recipe using our blue cornmeal!
